I want to fully experience others... get out of the head, into the body, into the heart ... take the feeling and make it something OUT THERE...

Re: Fully experiencing the other
Sun, March 12, 2006 - 11:07 AMA great technique: Stare into someone's eyes for 3 minutes... enjoy the ride. lots of layers to go in thru and back out again. No talking, occasional giggles OK. -

Re: Fully experiencing the other
Thu, March 16, 2006 - 4:26 PMit's all about the raw experience
feeling so centered in that moment
that perception extends beyond out body
and interacting with the world around us
with others
it's intensity is unbelievable
and dreamlike
as every moment passes
you'd realize you're not thinking
if you were thinking
...
i strive for this all the time
but it takes a lot of clearing of clutter
and reminding yourself
of how beautiful those feelings are
......
i had an intense experience at magic mountain in socal
very sober and no lines(it was super bowl sunday)
we went on ride after ride
and without waiting for the lines
the energy just accumulated
and by the time we got off the 6th ride
i felt sooooo alive
more alive than in years it felt
so close with the air around me
so vividly in the moment
so out of my head
and inside my body
it is sooo beautiful this life
it's crazy that we put so much up in between us and raw experience
well, time to tear those walls down
=)

Aquabug...
Mon, March 20, 2006 - 7:33 PMyou want a trip, stare into YOUR OWN eyes (in a mirror) for awhile. See how long you can do it. Depending on what experience you're coming from (i.e. inebriated or ), it can be a weird experience! -

Fully experiencing the other
Mon, May 15, 2006 - 8:11 AMi did that once with a friend for an hour or more, just staring into eachother's eyes from a couple metres away as dusk slowly came in and the streetlight and subdued lighting kicked in...
trying not to blink at all, just squinting a little to reduce the need for blinking, and to reduce useless texture information. [i have very good vision -this intereferes with my "seeing" - and squinting helps it greatly!]
she started changing colours after 3 minutes,
[i'm talking about black, purple, green, gold, white, beige & red here]
and constantly i saw her as different ages, sexes, and body-type - one morphing into the other.
She became everyone she had ever been - through all these dimensions.
the longer you can put up with the itching of unblinked eyes - the stronger the effect!
it's as intense as making love with someone with eyes locked the whole time!!
It backed up the suspicion i have that when people talk about "past lives" that these are just simultaneous dimensions that we all live in...
seriously, i'm not taking about taking any "perceptual boosters"
Our friendship became VERY close after that - the trust and honesty we shared afterward over the years catapulted to territories we had never dreamed of experiencing with eachother. We could have a nasty stupid little arguement of the kind that gets friends not talking for a week, and after 5 seconds immediately segue right into just talking about our experience and frustration, and hearing the other out in kind - and resolving it seconds later!!!
I reccomend this to anyone who wants to take the leap with their friend and become REAL with 'em!

Tue, May 16, 2006 - 12:09 AMAnd if you can't get along with someone, I recommend this INSTEAD of talking. :-) (seriously.)

Re: Fully experiencing the other
Tue, May 16, 2006 - 12:11 AMI also wanted to say, I've been present for maybe 50 couples doing this exercise at various times and what you report, Roland, about seeing the colors and seeing people as different ages, races, sexes, SPECIES... it happens all the time! Yep, pretty cool.
